Please join Abby's Army as we "seize back" what epilespy takes!
Abigail Grace Shuckrow was born on February 18, 2004 and nearly every day of her life, since then, has been filled with seizures. Sometimes she has only a handful of seizures but on other days, the count has reached into the hundreds. Abby's seizure disorder has stolen away her childhood. And because no treatments have helped her, seizures will most certainly continue to steal away the happiest moments of her life.
The April 20, 2009 edition of Newsweek magazine reminded us all that "a total of more than 3 million Americans are affected by [epilepsy]--more than multiple sclerosis, cerebal palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's disease combined. Between 1 and 3 percent of the population will develop some form of epilespy before the age of 75."
We hope that you will consider joining Abby's Army as we begin to "seize back" all that seizures have taken from our daughter and the many other Americans who suffer from forms of epilepsy.
